2022 Wrap Up

A breakthrough of a breakthrough

#2022 will be the year that I will remember for the rest of my life as it comprises the best stuff that has ever happened to me (pretty much career-defining) πŸ˜„.

That year bought me a lot of wisdom and action items to follow to make my next following years to be delightful.

Without any further dilly-dally let's get to it πŸš€

Great start πŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

As by the heading, I pretty much had a great start because my team and I had won the CloudNative Hackathon Dec' 2021 conducted by WeMakeDevs formerly known as Community Classroom and so, I was enjoying the fruits of our team's effort.

Do check out our project on DevTool API ⭐

It boosted my confidence in tech projects because that project was completed on intuition rather than actual knowledge. Every step was just studied at that moment to implement and hope to keep this momentum of confidence forever.

At that point in time, I was earning pretty much and decided to gift a bouquet to my parents on their anniversary, bought some stuff for my parents and also spend on myself without any hesitation.

Beautiful, ain't it?

As time passed, I started taking part in more initiatives and responsibilities such as:

  • Becoming Developer Community Organizer for Microsoft Azure

  • Writing blogs

  • Contributing to open-source

  • Attending and organizing meet-ups

  • Maintaining several GitHub repositories

The aftermath of all these was, that I was getting a lot of paid opportunities in the terms of promotions, blog-writing, and many more 😌.

It was a start of something great!

I had the experience of working with organizations and learning through their experiences and enhancing my skills of all kinds like in terms of speaking, writing and becoming a people person! A lot of opportunities came through exposing my skills to the public of interest and we remain in great connection to this date. Such is the power of connection. It was always about trying and never giving up, even if you don't where to start from. It just happens.

So if anyone, wants me for software engineering jobs/internships or blog-writing or anything related to it, hit me up! I never stop learning πŸ˜‰

"I really don't think life is about the I-could-have-beens. Life is only about the I-tried-to-do. I don't mind the failure but I can't imagine that I'd forgive myself if I didn't try."
- Nikki Giovanni

With great power comes great responsibility πŸ’ͺ🏻

So, it was that time of the year when you need to keep your head straight. Since I was almost in my final year of college at the start of 2022, companies started coming to recruit and it was time to prepare my DSA skills, the project builds and many more to ensure my selection, boy oh! boy was it a soul-killer!

Companies started our training in some technical skill sets as it would correspond to the role that we would work on if we get selected. So, thanks to Kunal Kushwaha , I got to work on my DSA skills due to his videos. Do check out my repository on DSA topics where I practiced some great questions.
A lot of work went in and sometimes, it was quite stressful as you keep thinking about it but the motive was to keep working despite the failure and keep testing your capabilities, who knows, you just might be better than that πŸ’πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ.

Then, the time came and I was prepared for pretty much all the questions that will be asked and months later successfully secured multiple job offers 🎊. Yeah, it was pretty good in the end. Mom and Dad are happy πŸ˜„. But that did come at the cost of losing some jobs despite the efforts. Some were due to hard luck and some were due to a lack of skill sets. Some interviews took hours (yes, I had to sit for a while, all dressed up) before our turn came to present our abilities. Some interviews were delightful and one of them was an on-site interview which seemed like a blessing given the situation of the pandemic and online capabilities, a totally different experience altogether. Even after that, I was receiving job interviews & offers due to my work in open-source across countries. Never really thought, I would be getting one like that during my college days.

Peaking but not exactly studying LOL

So, I was expanding my horizons at this point and gaining the wisdom that I needed along the way knowing the fact that not everything was about gaining or losing the thing that you wanted, it was about whether you tried to reach the objective that you wanted for so long! Hold on to those things a bit longer, the universe will make its way to you :)

But what is life if not fun perseveringπŸ•―οΈ

It wasn't all work and no play in 2022! This year included a lot of festivities and occasions to be involved in, which was majorly the part of the 2022 year being the best for me, and also bought some new gadgets. Received a lot of swags from tech organizations. Now, I don't need to buy new t-shirts πŸ˜‚. Last but not least I also got the chance to collaborate on CFP for Kubecon-CloudNativecon Europe 2023 with folks from the CloudNative Community. Truly grateful for that.

Got a lot of networking opportunities and connections which I am truly in gratitude for. Learned a lot about their expertise and future objectives which really pumps me up for what I wanna do later ongoing. An absolutely unique experience. Trust me, attend meet-ups.

These events can be a valuable learning experience for those looking to stay current on new technologies and trends, as well as for those looking to build their professional network. Additionally, attending meetups can be an effective way to find potential collaborators or employers. Overall, technical meetups can be a great way to gain knowledge and connect with other professionals in your field.

Meetups in a year.

This is a happy ending

In conclusion, I hope that this blog has provided you with valuable insights and information on the topic at hand. As technology continues to evolve and change at a rapid pace, it's important to stay informed and stay connected to others in the field. I encourage you to attend technical meetups, share your knowledge and experiences, and continue learning and growing as a professional. We wish you all the best in your journey in technology. But don't lose your way to something, take time to make it worth it.

Not every story has a happy ending, ... but the discoveries of science, the teachings of the heart, and the revelations of the soul all assure us that no human being is ever beyond redemption
